The Winners & The Prizes
The Second Research Competition for
the Students of the Jordan Universities, held Jointly between Middle East
Studies Centre and the Applied Science University.
The reviewing committee consisted of
several professors from the Jordanian universities and responsible for assessing
the participating researches has completed its work and nominated the following
students to win the competition prizes. The names, by order, are:
1- The first prize of 700 JD's was
won by Wafa Saa'di Abu-Ouf from the Students of the English Department at the
University of Jordan for her research "The Impact of the Democratic
Parliamentary Transformation of 1989 on the Emergence of the Islamic Labor Front
Party and its Participation in '93-'97", within the first axis of the
competition.
2- The second prize of JD 450 was
won by Nadia Saa'd Al-Deen, an MA student with a specialty of political science
at Al Al-Bayt University. Her research was entitled "The European Union and
the Peace Process on the Palestinian - Israeli Track", within the third
axis of the contest.
3- The third rank was equally
shared by U'houd Mahmnoud Abu Al-Haija a student of the Arabic language
department at Al-Yarmouk University, for her research within the first axis
"Democracy and the Bringing About of Women Leaders"; and Nader Zayed
Mohammad Al-Khatib, an MA student, with a specialty in political science at Al
Al-Bayt University who presented a research within the third axis entitled
"The Governmental Attitudes of the European States and the US Towards the
Middle East, Agreements and disagreements". The third prize worth 400 JD's
and is equally divided. For detailes of winners click here.
Final ceremony
Special ceremony was held at Applied
Science University on February at the winners honor accordingly.
Other participants (5 students) gained
symbolic rewards against their real and appreciated effort to submit their
researches on time valued with 50 J.D.
Their yield to win the first three
results doesn’t mean that it is the last chance. Competition 2000 is a new
proposing opportunity for them to their experience. Dr.Ismael Abdul
Rahman,deputy president of Applied science Univ. and Mr.Jawad El-Hamad director
of Middle East Studies Centre patroned the ceremony.
